Tiny Home Office Solution: DIY Wall-Mounted Folding Desk

In this short Instagram reel, I cover the latest addition to my tiny home, an ergonomic wall-mounted work desk in my living room that folds down seamlessly against the wall when not in use.

Hey there, I wanted to show you this cool space-saving folding desk I designed for my tiny house to give myself a more ergonomic workspace since moving between the couch and the kitchen barstool just wasn’t cutting it anymore.

So here it is folded down. It’s very clean and unobtrusive with no visible hardware and it sticks out just about an inch and a half from the wall.

To set it up, you just pull up, and everything pretty much falls into place with just a little help to get it situated at the full 90 degree angle.

It’s fastened through the backing board to the studs in the wall with just 4 screws and is quite sturdy.

To fold it down again, all you do is lift up a little on the desk, lift the angle braces, and drop it down. It’s sort of like origami.

The whole project came out around $100 including the pine project panel, stainless steel piano hinge, and water-based polyurethane finish
