Tiny homes are facing a serious problem: severe mold and moisture damage that’s making homes unlivable after just a few years. I wrote an in-depth guide for Tiny House Alliance USA on why this happens and—more importantly—how to prevent it.
This problem is affecting both DIYers and professional builders and I felt that I could contribute something valuable to this conversation based on my own research and experience building and living in a cold-climate tiny home. The good news is that these issues are preventable with the right knowledge, though sometimes it requires an education for both the builder and the homeowner.
Whether you’re planning a build, mid-construction, or troubleshooting an existing tiny home, I hope this guide helps clarify and simplify the building science involved. If you found it useful, please drop a comment!
